Jonker Street Night Market

Every Friday and Saturday night, the main road in Melaka’s Chinatown—Jonker Street—hosts a happening night market that’s popular among locals and visitors. Besides its energy and over-the-top karaoke sessions, the main reason to come is for the food. From dumplings and raw fish to cream-filled pancakes and roll-up dry ice cream, the market is a feast for the eyes, nose, and taste buds. You’ll also find stalls of kitschy gifts and clothes plus the odd robot toy and several stalls holding auctions for electronics. It’s a Malaysian experience not to be missed.
