All Bourbons Are Whiskeys, But Not All Whiskeys Are Bourbons
In the small town of Clermont, KY, 30 minutes outside of Louisville, is home to one of the oldest bourbon brands in the U.S., Jim Beam.
A tour of the recently renovated stillhouse and distillery puts a period on Louisville's claim as "Bourbon Capital of the World." You'll see the original home of one of the Beam founders as well as the entire bourbon-making process from mash to bottling. You can even get your name engraved on your own personal bottle of Beam bourbon.
The tour ends with a tasting of its bourbons, including the small batch Booker's, named after Beam master distiller Frederick Booker Noe II. Not for the faint of stomach -- it's 130 proof. Sip, then wait for it...
