Jewish Historical Museum
For centuries, Amsterdam has been home to a large Jewish community and the Jewish Historical Museum documents that experience from the Jewish migration here during the Spanish Inquisition in the 1600s to their persecution during WWII. The museum is housed in a complex created from four synagogues that were restored after being ransacked in WWII. It’s located within Amsterdam’s Jewish Quarter and is just a few steps from the Portuguese Synagogue.
