Family Recipes Produce Best Tacos in Central Texas
It seems you can find tacos on every street corner throughout Southern and Central Texas, but Jesse’s Taqueria and Bakery is a local favorite in Bryan/College Station, Texas. "We cook here just like we do at home – right in front of you," said Jesse Ocana, owner. “These recipes are from my dad, me and other members of my family in the valley near McAllen." Your taste buds awaken as you watch Jesse’s wife, Karen, pull a fresh tortilla from the griddle and begin piling up the home style taco fillings right in front of you. Top it off with one of five or six of their homemade hot sauces and you will think you have been transported to the Texas valley where Jesse first learned to cook as a young boy. Served cafeteria style, you pick and choose what you want on your breakfast tacos. While brisket is the best seller, they also have other expected fillings such as barbacoa, picadillo, fajita meats, beans, chorizo potatoes and more. Lunch specials are served Monday thru Friday.
