Jeffrey's Grocery, a restaurant and oyster bar in the West Village, is run by West Village restaurateur Gabriel Stulman, who also owns Joseph Leonard (across the street), Perla, and Montmartre among others.
The restaurant has a casual, rustic setting with lots of natural light flowing in from large windows — perfect for watching the West Village passersby. There is always fun music and a cheerful crowd enjoying the seafood and American comfort food. Open seven days a week from breakfast to late night, the restaurant has a full raw bar menu, with a selection of oysters that changes daily. Some of my favorites on the menu include avocado toast, grilled oysters, fettuccine with crab, and crispy rock shrimp rolls. And don't miss Oyster Happy Hour (Monday–Friday, 4–6pm, $1 oysters).
You can easily spend hours here over a weekend brunch or at happy hour, then stroll off the food and drinks while browsing the boutiques in the neighborhood.
Tamron Tip: There's lots of natural light here, so a window seat makes for great food shots. Try apertures of f7.1 or higher to capture all of the detail in crisp focus.
