The third largest city in Korea, after Seoul and Busan, Incheon is perhaps best known as the home of South Korea’s major airport. But the city has also long played a leading role in Korea’s economic development, and it continues to be a metropolis at the forefront of technology. You can get a look at what the future may look like from atop the soaring Incheon Bridge and in Songdo City, a state-of-the-art planned community for 250,000. Incheon, however, also has some more timeless attractions. It is the home of the country’s largest Chinatown and a convenient base to explore a number of offshore islands that feel far from the bustle of Seoul.
