Barcelona is often an unforgettable trip for a lot of people. For me, it was Gaudi who made me fall in love with the city. Yes, the energy of the city is dynamic, the food is terrific, and I always love cities near the ocean. But Gaudi's buildings made such an impression on me that when I think about going back to Barcelona I do so because I want to stare at his buildings again.
Everyone goes to the Sagrada Familia and it is in fact impressive. But beyond the Sagrada Familia's jaw-dropping pillars and Parc Güell's whimsical motifs there is Casa Milà and Casa Batlló. The rooftop of the former (pictured) is fascinating but so are Gaudi's ergonomic designs showcased in the latter. Both are inspiring and a must see for architecture lovers!
