Multicultural Melbourne is home to people from 180 countries who speak over 230 languages, and the thought-provoking Immigration Museum charts this history through the stories of these people from across the world. Not only does it highlight the many successes—with recollections of the often arduous journeys and moving tales about life on arrival—but it also covers darker topics such as the displacement of indigenous people and the controversial White Australia policy.

The museum only costs $10, but is an interesting history of immigration to Australia and some of the attempts to keep people out such as the "diction test. There are also some other exhibits to look at too.
