Iguanas is a family-owned Mexican fast food restaurant with three locations in the South Bay. The one downtown, the original, operates in a big purple house on 3rd Street at San Carlos. Most of Iguana's menu is devoted to burritos, and it's biggest claim to fame is the 5-pound Burritozilla, but I like their veggie tacos best of all -- fresh guac, grilled onions, black beans (made w/o lard, so vegans can eat them too), shredded cheese, warm corn tortillas and salsa verde. Muy bien! I usually go to the one in Evergreen (southeast San Jose) since it's easier to find parking. The one downtown is right near San Jose State, and finding parking can be a pain, and so can driving in that area, since it's a mishmash of one-way streets (including 3rd Street) and because the light rail traveling down San Carlos can cause driving delays.
