The bohemian spirit is alive and thriving in Luang Prabang with Icon Klub, an artful little bar tucked on a side street in the heart of the old town. Proprietress Lisa shakes and stirs up quality drinks, from the classics-done-well (try the mojito and Bloody Mary), to creative cocktails like "Bi-Polar Bear" and "Jack Sparrow." It's a casual, no-pressure, all-welcome atmosphere with good tunes and good conversation.
On any given night, don't be surprised if someone is strumming a guitar, reading poetry, playing chess, examining tarot cards, lighting absinthe, dancing or ringing the bell to pay for a round of Icon's signature "A Very Good Shot" (I can confirm, it is a very good shot).
Find the bar (with a white facade) on the street connecting the Nam Khan River and the main street, uphill from Couleur Cafe/Saynamkhan Hotel. Open daily from 5pm to Luang Prabang's strict 11:30pm curfew.
