Located right in front of Douro River and close to the train station of Pinhão, I entered this Vintage House to rest after a trekking in the area. I started in Provesende and I went down towards Pinhão, absorbing the amazing views and the autumn colors, passing by vineyards and overlooking the river.
I entered the bar, a very charming room with a fireplace and ask for a delightful fresh mint tea, which was complemented with a small croissant and a custard tart. Good to get the energy back.
I felt I was visiting a museum; the room has old paintings hanging on the walls, old books in wooden shelves and an old record player.
Outside, a swimming pool with a dazzling view over the river and mountains, but unfortunately it’s not Summer time.
I just wish I had more time to enjoy this Vintage House, a perfect place to catch up on reading and loosen up.
To get here, catch the train in Porto, it’s around two and half hours. And for more suggestions on what to do around the area, check: http://www.welovesmallhotels.com/en/.
