An anchor in CityCentre (the 37-acre, mixed-use development unveiled in west Houston in 2009), Hotel Sorella has an intimate, boutique feel with graphic interior touches and contemporary furnishings. Guest rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in showers, and custom beds with Egyptian cotton linens and non-allergenic goose down and foam pillows. Amid 18 upscale shops (Lululemon, Kendra Scott, Anthropologie, Paul Carter Jewels, Paper Source, and H&M) and an eight-screen Studio Movie Grill, the hotel’s back door is an outdoor plaza with green space where kids can run around. Musicians play Thursday through Sunday. The open-air, European-style development caters to pedestrians and alfresco dining.

Sorella sits in Houston’s wealthiest zip code, just off of Interstate 10, and smack in the middle of powerhouse shopping at Town & Country Village, CityCentre, and nearby Memorial City Mall. It’s also conveniently situated between the Energy Corridor and the Galleria area, both of which are a quick car ride from the property—as is the Westchase Business District and downtown. When work is done, weekend warriors (and kids ages 3 and up) can unwind and find adventure at the original iFly Houston Indoor Skydiving, which is located across the interstate. More delicious dining options include omakase at Kuu and Taste of Texas.
