Modernism Architecture
On Dona Filipa de Lencastre's Square, sits the huge building that holds Infante de Sagres Hotel. It's author is Porto's architect, Rogério de Azevedo, a notable professional that has a lot of buildings in the City. It’s a “strange” building in Azevedo’s portfolio, very classic, reaching Estado Novo’s regionalism at its best. Constructed in 1947 it has some similar characteristics together with the neighbour Rialto Building at D. João I Building.
