I entered hotel Giraffe at 6 pm in a hot and humid day in New York City. Guests were leisurely sitting at the lounge with a glass of wine and small plates of cheese and fruit to pair with. I checked in very fast and soon enough I entered my suite at the 11th floor. The cozy living room with a flat screen TV, wooden table and a sofa was perfect for me to catch up with emailing and the news while the large bedroom, with soft linens and plenty of pillows was the perfect place to curl up later. Surprisingly, I noticed that there was a balcony; I opened the door and I witnessed the breathtaking views of Park Avenue. It makes a great difference to view one of the world’s most celebrated avenues from the 11th floor. Stunned, I stayed out for a few minutes before the vertigo of the heights settled. I later joined the complimentary wine and cheese reception at the lounge. While sipping sparkling wine, I looked out of the window: Park Avenue was now closer, friendlier and ready to be explored. The piano player gave a musical tone to the evening and all guests seem to be enjoying their time. Giraffe is a boutique hotel in the center of Manhattan with gracious staff and many perks. What not to be missed is the rooftop garden at the top where all guests can access during the day, enjoy their breakfast or relax with a book. In the evening, the bar serves cocktails and drinks to early hours and all are welcome.
