Hollywood Theater debuted in 1926 and proved such a hit that Portland named a whole neighborhood after the historic landmark. The titular theater hosts film fests, arthouse events, and cheap second run movies you can pair with decent kettle corn and microbrews. Not bad for a nonprofit.
The neighborhood is also home to several rising (business) stars. Hollywood Babylon features vintage rock n roll threads. Hollywood Vintage’s mix of costumes and dapper apparel is surprisingly well-curated given the massive floor space. After shopping and a flick, feel like a bigshot by reserving the private dining area at Blue Fin Sushi.
