I stumbled into this store when I first moved here thinking I could buy a postcard. Two years later I have yet to buy a postcard, yet Hills is possibly my favourite store in the city! I go by whenever possible, sometimes to shop, but usually to explore this incredible atmosphere.
Hills has two floors. The first floor has masks staring down at you from almost every corner of the brick walls. You can get every form of Native art from clothing, masks, boxes, prints and drums. And what makes Hills unique is that all of their art come directly from the source artist (not factories!) Every piece is unique to the Nation and artist in question. On the second floor, where the more expensive art is, you can sometimes watch an artist work on a piece. If you ask they may even tell you the inspiration or story behind their piece. If your looking for authentic BC art pieces, or even just an incredible artistic atmosphere, this is definitely the place to be!
