During June of this year (2011) we had friends visit from the Detroit area and it was great to take a week off and show them around town. My wife and I travel out of the US often and to just be home and see the things we often forget about as we rush around in our daily lives was relaxing and reminded me of how nice it can be to just take some time off and look around at home.
Highland Dr. is on Queen Anne Hill and from the south side you can get this view of downtown, the waterfront, Space Needle and of course Mt. Rainier. As we stood there a youngster ran in front of us and jumped into the middle of this modern sculpture. At first I was annoyed because he got into my picture and then I realized how much more interesting it was with him silhouetted there.
