A Hotel in The Westfjords, Iceland Where a Parrot Can Say Hello in Over Twenty Languages
This hotel in the northern Westfjords not only boasts killer 360 degrees of the rivers, mountains and forest surrounding it, there's also a parrot who has learned to speak in several languages as a result of the visitors passing through.
If the views and parrot were not enough, the restaurant serves thoughtful Icelandic classics and the rooms, constructed almost entirely of wood, are warm and welcoming.
There's even an indoor pool and ping pong table for days when it's too blustery to go outside but when you have a chance to step out, the hotel offers an array of activities. Fishing in the nearby river and horseback riding are the standouts.
