Heide Museum of Modern Art
A short taxi ride east of Melbourne is the former home of art patrons and collectors John and Sunday Reed, who opened up their doors to like-minded artists from the 1930s to the 1950s to create a hub for progressive contemporary Australian art and culture. Explore the regularly changing exhibitions, many of which include works by the artists who called Heide home, including Sidney Nolan, then grab a takeaway lunchbox from the excellent Café Vue to enjoy in the 15 acres of gardens and sculpture park.
