When you decide to head out to a new place, with just a few clicks of your mouse, you can find "best kept secrets" galore. That's what we were looking for when we decided to spend a few days in Girona, Spain. Our goal was to get to Barcelona. But after discovering Ryan Air doesn't fly into Barcelona from Italy - it's Girona instead - with a little bit of surfing we decided it might be the perfect place to explore before heading down the coast. We wanted something with character, with style. And on several sites, Hap Dreams Apartments kept coming up on our radar. So we booked a top floor apartment and headed out. Hap Dreams apartments aren't located on a busy street or a major intersection. Instead you have to wind down medieval streets looking for the sign. And once there, you won't find a receptionist. Just a keypad coded mailbox with your keys and instructions. We pulled our luggage up the winding stairs. And opened the door to a beautiful apartment ... with the view above. The apartment was charming and cozy; perfect for a few days and even longer if you so desire. Yet it was the view I will always remember. Every morning, I threw back the shutters, grabbed a cup of tea, and simply drank in the beauty of what lie below.
