Historic Churches of St. Barths: The Eglise Anglicane de Gustavia
Built of stones brought from St. Eustatius and flanked by swaying palm trees, the Eglise Anglicane de Gustavia, or Saint Bartholomew Anglican Church, was built in 1885 and features a rock wall and a bell tower. It is located along the very elegant Rue du Centenaire in Gustavia and serves as an important building on the island. Several special services and musical events are held throughout the year, including Holy Week and Easter services, Thanksgiving concerts, and Christmas celebrations. The church also participates in the island’s yearly Music Festival, held at venues around the island in January and February.
Visitors are welcome for Sunday service, which begins at 9:00 a.m. Even if you aren't religious, this is a central building you should see.
