Beautiful architecture in this small town once ruled by the chibchas
On my last trip to Colombia in 2013, I decided to visit my great grandmothers place of birth, Guatavita I had always heard what a beautiful place this was and studied it in high school as this town has amazing history dating back to pre-spaniard colonization. It is a must see! The centre of the town is surrounded by very good restaurants that serve typical food from this region like ajiaco and mazato. The small shops sell a lot of hand made items such as hammocks, bags, sweaters.
