Creative Villa Sleep near Tahiti's Most Famous Wave
If you have a large family or a group of friends coming to surf Tahiti's most powerful wave, Teahupo'o, located practically outside this four-bedroom (1,500 square foot) property's front door, then Green Room Villa is an excellent and affordable sleeping option -- it is also the only vacation rental in this sleepy surfing village. Plus it is a really unique sleep. The main house is shaped like an octagon and the center is open with a huge mangosteen tree growing out of it, which provides a whole different indoor-outdoor living fusion experience. Don't worry though, if it rains, you won't get wet, as the bedrooms are sealed off from the elements. There's also a giant, covered wooden deck, windows and teak flooring throughout, and brightly painted walls that show the owners' creativity. The home also works well for a small destination wedding as there is a "honeymoon bungalow" at the bottom half of the property's fruit tree garden area. Built on stilts, it sits over a purple water lily-filled pond. Note that the honeymoon cottage is the only room with air-con, but breezes keep the main house relatively cool. The entire property, however, is super private and chill and on a very local part of the island. Note that the owners require a credit-card damage deposit, and there’s a three-day minimum stay.
