While modest, the town of Grapevine, Texas, 30 minutes northeast of Fort Worth, has a charming Main Street loaded with independent boutiques, bakeries, and cafes. For a town of its size, it also has an impressive art walk, located between the Cotton Belt Depot and Northwest Highway. The pathway links nine bronze statues—including a 9/11 flight crew memorial and “Coming Home,” a bronze statue of a soldier—throughout the city. (Pick up a map at the town’s visitors’ center.) There are also a handful of charm-filled galleries such as the Vetro Glassblowing Studio & Gallery, where you can see live glass blowing demonstrations.
