The Granada Theater had some trouble finding its identity when it was built in 1946, vacillating between functioning as a movie house and concert hall. Over the last few decades, however, it has established itself as a live music venue that’s consistently voted one of best in North Texas. A nod to its mid-century roots, the building is dripping in Art Deco details. Grand murals inside compliment the exciting stage performances created by the same artists behind Hollywood’s revered Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. The moderately sized venue is genre agnostic, hosting performances by metal bands, reggae acts, indie pop, and more. Located in the heart of Dallas's funky Lower Greenville, there may be no more majestic place to take in live music with a touch of old school glamour.
