Ride the Rails in Style
Joe and I took the scenic GoldenPass train from Montreux (the unofficial capital of the Lavaux region) to Interlaken. The train links Lake Geneva with central Switzerland via the Bernese Oberland and the entire trip takes about six hours. Our noses were right up against the picture windows in the VIP panorama car front row—get seat reservations there for the best views on the Montreux-Zweisimmen portion of the trip which tends to fill up fast. We traveled all the way from Lake Geneva through the mountains to the alpine town of Gstaad. The "Golden Pass" is just one of Switzerland’s famous scenic trains—riding at least one of them is a not-to-be missed experience when you are traveling in this part of the world.
