The beauty of travel is when adversity turns into adventure.
Now, your camera battery dying isn't what most would call a travel emergency, but I had driven all the way to Glenorchy to photograph the beauty of the place. So when my camera died, I scanned what appeared to be a mostly abandoned town for help.
What I found was a bit of paradise at the Glenorchy Cafe. I entered doubting it would even be open and found what appeared to be a good portion of the town relaxing inside. Having already had lunch in Queenstown I was disappointed that I only wanted a flat white and an electrical outlet.
The cafe serves a full menu, delicious coffee, wines and beers. There is a huge patio out back where tables are marked with quirky markers like this golf driver. If you're in Queenstown you can't pass up the stunning drive to Glenorchy and when you get there, plan some time at the Glenorchy Cafe.
