If it's possible to fall in love with a wine, it happened to me in Gavi. Rolling hill after rolling hill full of sunflowers and grapevines. Gavi is in the region of Alessandria, Piedmont and was named after a princess in the middle ages that established herself in a castle on top of one of those rolling hills. Once I tasted the wine from gavi I knew I was in trouble. It had ruined me to all other white wines. A perfect balance of dryness and fruitiness, it just might be the ideal white wine.
