The Fujian Museum, located in Fuzhou’s West Lake Park, is one of the better museums in China. Its exhibitions are expansive and well-curated, and descriptions are in both English and Chinese. The museum has around 170,000 items, of which they classify 30,000 as “valuable relics”. For me, that includes objects uncovered from digs around Fuzhou, which go back to the Neolithic Era. People often speak about China’s 5000 years of culture, but it is really amazing to actually see it in reality.
