Frothy Monkey

2509 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204, USA

One of my favorite Nashville neighborhoods, far away from the downtown insanity of Bourbon Street, is 12South. My Lyft driver told me that years ago this neighborhood was pretty rough. Over the past decade or so, it has blossomed into a vibrant community. One of the first businesses to embrace 12th Avenue South in the early, unsure days, was Frothy Monkey, a local coffeehouse. Food & Wine Magazine named it one of ‘8 Phenomenal Coffee Shops Where You Can Get Your Wine Fix’ in 2015. I personally have always had a thing for coffee & booze under one roof. Frothy Monkey is more than just a coffeehouse, it plays a big part of 12th South’s community. Customers seemed to know each other, the atmosphere was friendly, people talked, or simply got their work done. It’s a great place to drink a coffee, get a good glass of wine, eat (breakfast, lunch, or dinner), or simply soak up the neighborhood, a piece of non-tourist Nashville. >>>Nina Dietzel traveled on Trafalgar’s “Tastes and Sounds of the South” itinerary as part of AFAR’s partnership with the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), whose members provide travelers with unparalleled access, insider knowledge, and peace-of-mind to destinations across the globe.
