Froberg’s farm is a family tradition, having been on the same plot of land since the late 1930s. Located in Alvin, a Gulf Coast city just about thirty minutes south of Houston, the farm has a little bit of everything. Strawberries are the main attraction, with strawberry picking field trips and day excursions beckoning Houstonians out of the city to load up buckets and barrels of juicy red berries. A corn maze and hay ride are also available in the fall, from late September to early November. Along with all of the fresh fruits and vegetables that you can pick, you might also be tempted by the homemade pralines, peanut and pecan brittle, made-from-scratch pies, and jellies and preserves.
