A Dickens of a Christmas
Every December downtown Franklin, Tennessee, hosts "A Dickens of a Christmas," a street festival featuring arts and crafts, food and drink, and dozens of Franklin residents dressed as characters from Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." The Ghost of Christmas Future is suitably ominous, but it's Jacob Marley and his ghostly face paint and rattling chains who steals the show each year. My kids favorite part of the event is the dancing--Victorian dances performed by enthusiasts in Victorian garb. My daughter is already planning her hoop skirt for next year.
