Bermuda's East End Beaches: Clearwater Beach and Fort St. Catherine Beach
Protected coves and eastern-facing locations are an excellent spot for catching a sunrise along Bermuda’s beautiful shores. Located near Cooper’s Island Nature Reserve in St. David’s, Clearwater Beach is popular with local swimmers and snorkelers. The water is fairly shallow and there are lots of turtles and tropical fish to be seen. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer. A playground and bicycling and rollerblading space offer alternate outdoor recreation.
Enjoy the beauty of the beach with the historic fortification and iron cannons of Fort St. Catherine in the background. Fort St. Catherine Beach, on the northeastern side of the island, has a nearby snack bar and beach rentals. The currents can be quite strong here so take caution.
