Ruins in the Heart of Nashville
This city park preserves the footprint of a fortress built by the Union to protect occupied Nashville during the Civil War. It’s an unusual opportunity to stroll above the city on St. Cloud Hill, offering views of the skyline and surrounding neighborhoods, stone remnants of the 1930s era reconstruction of the fort, and a crash course on the logic and layout of defensive architecture.
