When I'm dead set on having chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, it really doesn't matter how far the walk is. Or that I'm not getting served my pancakes at breakfast but instead at 1:00 P.M. on a Tuesday afternoon.
At the Floridian Restaurant on Las Olas Boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale (Florida), the chocolate chip pancakes are a delicious treat at any hour of the day.
On my most recent trip to Ft. Lauderdale, I visited the Floridian upon a recommendation for "great breakfast food." We opted for outside seating and the appeal of sunshine (although the interior decorations of diner seating and pin-ups of Marilyn Monroe's offered many appeals of their own). Combined with a tart iced tea and the sunshine-esque atmosphere that surrounded every of the many outdoor tables, it didn't matter that my meal became my afternoon tea.
For anyone who has a special place in their heart for sweets in the early (or late) "hours of the morn," the Floridian's chocolate chip pancakes are a must.
