Sefood Festival
Sefood Festival
Once a year there's an event like no other in the tiny community of Placida, Florida. The annual Seafood Festival is always on the third weekend in March every year for the entire weekend. It attracts people from all over to the quite "Old Florida" charm of the tiny fishing village that is housed in the Fishery field in historical village. There are number of vendors from the famous Margaret Albritton Gallery to the Hatch Gallery to Joe's Orchids Shop as the big name ones to smaller vendors who come out yearly for the event like Special Effects from Boca Grande to Little Gasparilla Fire Department to the bi weekly ones of the Placida Arts & Crafts Market like Kia's Totems. It's a great time. Don't forget to look out for the beer tend from the local rotary to the crab races (yes, there's such an event, only in Florida can you see this one). Also, you can always stop by Patsy's Crabs for your share of blue crabs. Parking can be found in the filed next door in the old Mercury Motors plant & across the street for a small fee that goes towards the project graduation from Lemon Bay High School Sponsor. Overall it was a big success & everyone was having fun!
