The first thing you notice as you approach Fish is the line, a very long line. And if it's a Saturday or Sunday, a very, very long line. The good news is you can use this time to stare at the gorgeous Pacific coast, and decide on what you want to order since everything on the menu is too good to pass up.
Fish is tucked away in a serene Sausalito marina, just north of San Francisco, and if it wasn't for the line of hungry patrons, you might drive right past it. Don't. This small restaurant, dedicated to local sustainable fishing/farming and organic produce, has a fresh selection of not only fish but also crab, oysters and ground beef for red meat lovers.
The White Clam Chowder is a popular item. My daily special of mussels was superb. There is outdoor and indoor seating and, for those who like to cook their own meals, fresh seafood for purchase. Just remember to bring cash -- no plastic accepted.
