Popular with school field trips, Fernbank started as a forest preservation project, now known as the 65-acre Fernbank Forest. It’s known for its exhibits of dinosaur fossils and Native American and European artifacts. Fernbank also has exhibits on the natural history of Georgia. The IMAX Theater is another highlight, showcasing documentaries on wildlife and other science-related topics. Adults can enjoy the museum’s monthly Martinis & IMAX event, featuring cocktails, music, appetizers and an IMAX film. Be sure to pose in front of the dinosaur replicas at the front of the museum.
