Federation Square, aka Fed Square, is Melbourne's public living room, with events and festivals on the concrete and grass knolls, live music (scheduled and not), and a tourism office nearby. A recent renovation means the outdoor venue is more vibrant than ever. Hang out, grab a bite, or just soak up the sun, but be sure to really look around. Often public art projects, like Patrick Dougherty's Stickwork, lurk in less obvious corners.
