With its elegant dining room, high quality imported ingredients, and reasonable prices, recently-opened F Bistro is a welcome addition to Xiamen's culinary landscape. After honing their skills in the Shanghai restaurant scene, the France- and Hong Kong-based owners have created a casual yet elegant neighborhood gathering spot in the heart of Xiamen. A spacious atrium, black-and-white photos of France, and chic bar greet guests on the main floor, while a cozier nook upstairs has more of a traditional cafe feel.
The French-trained chef presents classics such as beef bourguignon, salad nicoise, and croque monsieur, as well as pasta and steaks that are a treat to the eyes as well as the tongue. The star of the desert menu is the chocolate cake made from imported French chocolate that melts on the inside. The bar boasts Xiamen's largest collection of Belgian beers as well as handmade cocktails and of course French wines. On Monday nights after 10, there's an all-you-can-drink cocktail open bar for 100 RMB. Open daily 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. 17 Hexiang West Road 禾祥西路17号
