Take a motor boat to the end of the Lagoa Verde, where you’ll transfer to a canoe—the only craft small enough to penetrate the narrow, surreal waterways of the Enchanted Forest. Known as an igapó, this natural phenomenon is the result of the rainy season’s rising waters, which get so high, they submerge entire tracts of land—plus the bottom halves of all the resident trees. The top halves’ reflection on the water around you only compounds the magic.
