Hugh Acheson's Atlanta flagship is far from a stuffy restaurant you might expect from the many accolades. At its core, it's a community restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They saw a need for a coffee shop and so they opened a coffee window. They offer to-go lunches for the many businesses nearby.
Breakfast and lunch are light affairs, mostly sandwiches for those on the go. Dinner involves heartier portions, including the beloved farm egg, a soft poached egg over Carolina Gold rice. Entrees use as many local ingredients as possible, like the Georgia trout. And don't forget brunch, perhaps the most popular time to dine at ESS.
Parking is in a deck nearby that is validated for 3 hours and you can play a round of bocce while you wait for your table.
