Emerald Bay was my favourite snorkelling spot in all of Tobago, and there was some tough competition.
The waters around Tobago support approximately 300 different species of coral, including staghorn, elkhorn, fire coral, giant tube sponges and starlet coral.
There is also a broad range of reefs, rock pillars, wrecks and extravagant undersea gardens filled with giant sea fans, whips and plumes.
Emerald Bay sports a sandy coral swept sea floor about 30 feet deep, surrounded by high rock cliffs. The water is a brilliant green blue at the perfect temperature. It is accessible only by boat.
