Way to Fly: Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Airport
My husband loves Embassy Suites by Hilton. His eyes light up when I plan travel to someplace new and he always asks, “Do they have an Embassy Suites?” Maybe it’s the cook-to-order breakfast omelets or the spacious two room suites with in-room coffee maker, dining table and comfy beds. Maybe he likes the “Hilton HHonors Double Points” or the “Park, Stay and Go” packages; the later offering complementary parking ( see site) and airport shuttle after a one night stay.
Well I know what I like. I like the Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Airport because I can arrive there the night before a ridiculously early eastbound flight and know that I have a safe and comfortable place to sleep with friendly staff, and always an on-time wake-up call.
I may not even get to have some of the complementary breakfast buffet because my flight is well before it opens, but they do put out fresh-brewed coffee and a Danish to grab and go for us early birds. Airport shuttle is on time and that’s a great relief. I could have arrived at the hotel earlier in the evening in time for their complementary evening reception with adult beverages and nibbles offered. But I chose to stay at home before I had to make the hour drive to the airport area and settle in for the night. I don’t recommend that anyone wake up at 3:30 AM, but if you have to catch an early flight to Europe and live some distance from the airport like I do, Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Airport is “the only way to fly”!
Tip: Although the Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Airport is popular and nearly always full, request a room facing away from the runway.
