Some places just feel right. When we arrived at Elia Suites, you just knew it would be a special place to stay. Anna and Panos built this place from the ground up. All of the suites are actually individual tiny homes that include a full kitchen, and a really clever washer dryer combo. The bathroom is large and luxurious, as is the bedroom with a king bed. All of the units are identical except for the colored furniture on the patio and one chair inside. Panos, has hand made most of the furniture from reclaimed materials. The fit and finish of the suites is perfect, and super clean too. A short walk to the front of the property is the lounge, a gravel filled area with overstuffed chairs, communal tables and some pretty cool artwork. From here you can see the Corinthian Gulf across the street and it’s beautiful beach. It’s about a 2.5 hour drive from Athens but well worth it. Driving along the Gulf is just stunningly beautiful, and when you arrive, you will get that peacful vibe. We drove to Eratini Village for dinner at Katina Taverna on the main street and enjoyed local food and wine and people wathcing. The people of Greece are very kind and accommodating, in fact it was my birthday, and the owner of the taverna brought me out some birthday cake that he had made for his daughter who was also celebrating her big day. Actions like this speak to just how nice the Greeks are. Elia is the perfect home base for exploring the Corinthian Gulf.
