I like to get tattoos when I travel. When I went to New Orleans recently, I realized my father had been there a few years prior and it was the last vacation he took before he passed away from cancer in 2011. I wanted to get a tattoo in honor of him, so I chose to get a Xenomorph (the alien from the movie Alien), because it's both awesome and reminds me of summer nights when my dad and I would stay up late watching sci fi movies.
I did some research and found Electric Ladyland, which was favorably reviewed. I emailed them my idea, set an appointment, and when I got there, Neal had it sketched out for me. Four hours and a gross amount of pain later, Lucille (what I named my tattoo) was born. The guys at the shop are fun and incredibly talented, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get some ink done while in NOLA.
