Elbow Beach
Elbow Beach is an intimate luxury resort spread amid 50 acres of lush manicured gardens that gently slope down to its signature pink-sand beach. One of Bermuda’s first hotel properties along the island’s famed south shore, the hotel offers gracious comfort that’s luxurious yet unfussy. The resort’s logo, a seahorse in a top hat, sums up the vibe. Hop one of the resort’s scooters for a trip to nearby nightlife and shopping, or simply let the days wander past on the truly stunning beach.

Rooms have a tan and beige decor that’s easy on the eyes, with blue accents to suggest the promise of beach and pool. All rooms have comfortable sofas placed in front of huge walls that slide open at a touch, allowing guests to bask in the ever-present sunshine for which Bermuda is famous. Traditional ceiling fans slowly rotate overhead, bringing into the low-key buildings the breezes guests enjoy on the powdery white sand of the beach. Drinks from the honor bar can be had poolside or at small tables on the deeply shaded terrace.

Insider Tips
Who's it for: Upscale vacationers looking for privacy over flash.
Our favorite rooms: Perched above the beach, Bird of Paradise Cottage is a one-bedroom beachfront cottage that enjoys one of the best locations at the resort and is perfect for couples looking for privacy. Designed in an elegantly simple style, it has the homey feel of an exclusive residential villa. Features include a private, covered patio and an oversize bathroom with windows overlooking the ocean and a glass-enclosed shower and sunken bath situated under a stunning vaulted ceiling. Best of all, this cottage is also the only accommodation at the resort with its own private beach access.
First-day frolic: Every year on New Year’s Day morning, guests of the hotel join together to enjoy a swim in the ocean. Everyone then receives a signature Elbow Beach seahorse pin along with a shot of cognac.
