El Tuco was a great hostel to stay at. The staff was genuinely helpful, pleasant and enjoyable to talk with. The owner is very personable and is able to discuss Peruvian customs, tell you where to catch a bus, what to see, etc. We used the kitchen for making our breakfast and dinner which saved time and money. A market and grocery store is located nearby. People of all ages stay at this hostel. It is not a party hostel which we appreciated, as many of the hostels in Cusco are reportedly loud.
My daughter has stayed here 3 times now. The owner remembers her each time and warmly greets her. I hope to be able to return to this wonderful place in the future.
