We were so excited to get on a ferry through Puget Sound - it just sounded like we should be on a boat at some point during our trip. Craving nature and not just city sightseeing, we did a road trip outside Seattle.
We were traveling from the Olympic Peninsula east to Woodinville, and taking the Edmonds-Kingston ferry was perfect. The Edmonds-Kingston ferry is a ferry route across Puget Sound between Edmonds and Kingston, Washington.
We were a little nervous because we had done so much research about making reservations for our car or buying tickets...and were having a difficult time. However, it was so easy and so cheap...We just drove up and I think it was about $16 for two people a one car, one-way...coming from the Northeast where it's like $80 one-way for passenger-only to Martha's Vineyard, this was amazing.
Ferry-travel ended up being an excellent idea because we discovered the traffic is terrible, and this solution cut out a few hours drive. We desperately wanted to avoid any traffic through Seattle and Tacoma metro areas.
