Fried Burgers at Dyer's
It’s hard to beat the classic burger-and-shake combo, and it doesn’t get anymore old school than Dyer’s. Cooked the same way since 1912, the burgers here are fried in a cast-iron skillet and topped with mustard, pickles, and onions. While they might not win any awards for healthy eating, they do have the distinction of being one of the top 60 “things worth shortening your life for,” according to Esquire. And since you’ve already stopped counting calories, you might as well add a root beer float or an old-fashioned milkshake. Not in the mood for a burger? Opt for the Southern fried chicken tenders or the special “Big Rag Baloney” sandwich.
